RF audit · continuous wireless assurance

Find the fault behind the Wi-Fi symptom.

Wireless evidence connected to the infrastructure and services behind every access point.

Multi-storey network showing wireless coverage, access points, switches, PoE, uplinks and cloud services analysed together

RF conditions

Review channel use, noise, signal-to-noise, transmit power, retries, radio errors and neighbouring networks where the platform exposes them.

Client and roaming evidence

Follow associations, observed AP transitions, dwell, signal, negotiated rates and packet errors to understand what connected devices experienced.

Active service tests

Use physical Wi-Fi probes for association, DHCP, connectivity and speed checks at representative locations—not merely controller health.

Wired path correlation

Connect the symptom to AP uplinks, Ethernet negotiation, PoE, switch topology, VLAN delivery and upstream dependencies.

Packet-level evidence

Capture traffic from supported AP radio, WLAN, SSID and wired interfaces when counters alone cannot explain the failure.

Controlled response

Guide an engineer or run an enabled, bounded playbook; preserve the action and follow-up evidence so completion is not mistaken for recovery.

The RF audit · in product

See the wireless estate. Understand what matters.

Assure turns a continuous stream of radio, client and roaming evidence into two useful views: a live operational pulse for the network team and a plain‑English conclusion for the customer.

RF is only one layer

A strong signal does not prove a working service. A guest or employee can be close to an access point while a switch port is dropping packets, the AP is under-powered, a VLAN is missing upstream or DHCP is failing. Optaro Assure follows the connection across the layers that matter:

  • Client and radio: signal, airtime, noise, retries and observed roaming.
  • Access point: configuration, errors, packet evidence and wired uplink.
  • Switch and power: port state, Ethernet speed, PoE, topology and uplinks.
  • Network services: VLAN path, gateway, DHCP, DNS and application connectivity.

Built for recurring assurance

Use the same evidence model across one site or a managed estate. MSPs, resellers, hospitality operators and enterprise IT teams gain a repeatable way to decide whether an issue can be repaired remotely, needs a controlled change or requires a precise on-site intervention.

Looking beyond sensor-based Wi-Fi monitoring?

If a sensor-based Wi-Fi monitoring product is on your shortlist, compare more than RF dashboards and alert volume. Optaro Assure takes a service-path approach: connect wireless and client evidence to the access point, Ethernet link, PoE, switch topology, VLAN delivery and network services behind the connection.

Use a live-site assessment to compare what matters:

  • Evidence coverage: which radio, client, AP, switch and service signals are available in your estate.
  • Active testing: how representative locations test association, DHCP, connectivity and throughput.
  • Cause correlation: whether a Wi-Fi symptom can be traced into wired and service dependencies.
  • Response control: which supported actions may be guided or automated, under what policy.
  • Recovery evidence: how the team confirms whether the device, path or service actually recovered.

We will document supported coverage for your controllers, models and firmware rather than claim blanket feature parity.

Isolate likely cause faster

Investigate one connected service path instead of reconciling disconnected controller, switch and ticket views.

Reduce blind resets

Use current evidence to choose a proportionate response rather than restarting an AP because the Wi-Fi symptom is vague.

Standardise multi-site delivery

Give engineers a consistent investigation and evidence trail across properties, branches and customer estates.

Verify the result

Where the playbook supports it, check that the device, path or service recovered and escalate when it did not.

Turn one difficult site into a clear assessment.

Bring a recurring Wi-Fi problem, your controller and switch estate, and the evidence your team can access. We’ll map the diagnostic coverage, show where Assure adds context and define a safe first deployment.

Questions

What people ask before an RF review.

What is an RF survey?

An RF survey measures radio conditions such as coverage, channel use, noise and interference across a site. Optaro Assure extends that investigation by connecting wireless evidence to clients, access points, switches, PoE, VLANs and network services.

How is continuous wireless assurance different from a one-off site survey?

A one-off survey is valuable for design and validation at a moment in time. Continuous assurance keeps observing supported infrastructure and service tests, helping teams investigate intermittent problems, configuration drift and changing conditions after the survey team has left.

Is Optaro Assure an alternative to sensor-based Wi-Fi monitoring?

Optaro Assure is designed for teams evaluating wireless assurance platforms. Its distinctive focus is correlating wireless evidence with switch, PoE, VLAN and network-service dependencies, then supporting controlled response where the integration and policy allow it. Coverage differs by vendor, model and use case, so a technical assessment defines the right fit.

Does every user need to install an agent?

No. Controller and AP diagnostics observe connected clients without installing software on guest or employee devices. Physical probes test selected Wi-Fi locations. This does not provide every device’s driver, operating-system or application state.

Does radio telemetry replace a spectrum analyser?

No. Noise and channel statistics can identify conditions worth investigating, but they are not full continuous spectrum analysis. A specialist sensor or on-site instrument may still be required to identify non-Wi-Fi interference.

Which network platforms can it work with?

Current implementation includes diagnostic paths for Aruba, Cambium, Ruckus SmartZone and Cisco Meraki, supported switch platforms, and MikroTik Wi-Fi probes. Exact metrics and actions depend on model, firmware, available APIs and the agreed deployment scope.

Will it automatically change the Wi-Fi network?

Only supported, enabled playbooks may act, and the allowed automation level is explicit for each customer environment. Higher-impact RF changes remain controlled until evidence, rollback and service-verification gates are appropriate for that site.
